The CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference is the biggest credit union tradeshow of the year and 2016 did not disappoint. The GAC was described in three parts: part one, getting acclimated, part two, understanding issues and part three, talking with lawmakers. On the first day of GAC an opening speech from CUNA’s President and CEO, Jim Nussle, discussed the CU Difference Campaign. The campaign features 15-second videos explaining how credit unions are different from banks. The videos have been posted to social media websites in order to increase awareness of the impact credit unions have on the country.
There were plenty of other trending discussions during the CUNA GAC. Hot topics ranged from auto loans, millennials, and cybersecurity, to CUNA bylaws and rewarding credit unions for the outstanding jobs they have been doing for their members and their communities. Throughout the week, the exhibit was full with over 250 vendors attending this year’s GAC- and United Solutions Company was proud to be one of them! United Solutions Company sent our President and CEO, Jim Giacobbe, and our Senior Vice President of Sales, Denny Gillott, to the CUNA GAC. Both agreed it was a wonderful time meeting new people from all over the country and spending quality time with current clients. This year at United Solutions booth we had a business card drawing for the chance to win a mini iPad.
