2016 Tech Forum Speakers: Mike Stoutenburg

June 01, 2016

In order to get to know our 2016 Tech Forum Speakers better we asked them to answer a couple more questions for us. This week’s spotlight is on Mike Stoutenburg, the Vice President of Sales at FinanceGenius.

Mike Stoutenburg has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. His career started with working for two major commercial captive finance companies, Ford Motor Credit and Mercedes- Benz Credit, where he held positions in collections, wholesale, and as a fleet credit analyst. Lending software sales became one of his career passions’ starting in 2005 when he worked for a leading company delivering loan origination software to FIs across the U.S. Over the years Mike has held national and regional sales positions and most recently led a sales team at Fiserv, Inc.

FinanceGenius, Inc. was formed in 2010 with the specific idea of harnessing the energy and efficiency of rateGenius business practices and transferring those to loan processing software that consumer lenders can use in their own lending operations. The FinanceGenius Loan Origination System inherits lessons learned from rateGenius in order to create a SaaS loan origination platform that promotes speed of processing, accuracy, automation, product cross-selling features and rapid underwriting.

What is the last book you read and/or what are you currently reading?

Mike: I just finished a book called "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen.

Tell us something about yourself we didn’t read in your bio.

Mike: I started playing soccer when I was 9.  I joined a German Soccer Club of which I traveled all over Germany and Austria during the summer.  I was going for a career in pro soccer, but unfortunately my aspirations ended with a severally torn ACL.  In my teen years I competed against one of the greatest forwards on the US National team.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Mike: I would like to travel exclusively in our country.  There are so many states that are rich in history, so many places with inspiring views, so many places with diverse wildlife, etc.  I love our country and want to know as much about it as I can before a can't travel anymore.
